Why new client inquiries come in waves — even when people know your name

You share valuable advice, clients recommend you and people occasionally ask about your services. Some weeks bring several inquiries. Other weeks are quiet.

Without a deliberate route from the right audience to your business, every new inquiry depends on the next post, introduction or burst of activity.

The right people need a clear way to discover your work. One focused market campaign can create that first entry path.
GTG founder
I help coaches turn their professional knowledge into clear ways for the right people to discover, understand and enter their business. I've seen capable coaches depend on a handful of referrals, social media posts or occasional campaigns. The turning point comes when the coach identifies one relevant audience, chooses a route to reach them and connects useful education to a suitable starting point. GTG uses four market routes to make those decisions visible and practical.

Your market begins where the right people already spend their attention.

A local community, a trusted professional, an educational publication or an online audience can all provide access. Each route needs a relevant message, a clear first step and a place for the relationship to begin.

THE SIGNAL

Inquiries arrive, but you cannot explain where the next ones will come from.

You receive recommendations, publish advice and talk to interested people.

Yet your activities lead to different places, and there is little clarity about which audience, message or partner creates genuine opportunities.

Look at your last five inquiries. Can you identify how each person discovered you, what interested them and what they did next?

THE AUDIENCE

Find a group that already shares a relevant problem.

Your Avatar and Methodology work from GTG System 03 helps identify real problems you can professionally address.

Now look for places where these people can be reached: local communities, employers, clubs, relevant websites, specialist publications or digital networks.

Choose a specific audience and a problem worth explaining. This becomes the foundation of your market message.

THE ENTRY PATH

Give interest a useful next step.

A short educational post, a partner introduction or a relevant email can start awareness.

A problem-awareness page helps the visitor recognise their situation. A deeper resource explains the reasoning. Sales Home then offers a clear way to choose a relevant product or book support.

Market brings the person to the door. Home guides the experience from there.

YOUR FIRST CAMPAIGN

Choose one route and build one complete journey.

Select a specific audience, one problem, one primary entry product and a market route.

Prepare your research, educational message, contact or distribution channel and clear next step. Decide what happens when someone replies or registers.

Which audience can you reach most credibly first — and what useful first step will you offer?

Measure the response before expanding into other campaigns.

GTG MARKET ARCHITECTURE · SYSTEM 06

Four ways to reach the right people.

Each route combines a geographical scope with a relationship model. Start with one primary campaign that suits your audience, expertise and resources.

01 · LOCAL / DIRECT Local Direct

Reach people in a defined local area through relevant content, community presence, referrals or appropriate direct contact.

02 · LOCAL / PARTNER Local Partner

Work with local clubs, practitioners, employers or organizations that already serve your intended audience.

03 · GLOBAL / DIRECT Global Direct

Reach suitable remote customers through targeted education, relevant communities, search or compliant outreach.

04 · GLOBAL / PARTNER Global Partner

Build relationships with educators, publishers, platforms or partners whose audience extends beyond your local market.

RELEVANT AUDIENCE A specific group, problem and access route
USEFUL FIRST CONTACT A post, article, introduction or outreach message
SALES HOME Problem awareness, deeper education and an appropriate next step

Direct routes reach the intended customer; partner routes use a relevant intermediary. A company may purchase or distribute an existing 4C product for its people. B2B remains a buyer or distribution route within the product ecosystem.

A PRACTICAL EXAMPLE

A local strength coach wants to reach busy office workers.

The coach chooses Local Partner as the first route. They identify a few nearby employers, prepare a short educational resource about movement breaks and propose sharing it with employees. Interested people enter the coach's Sales Home, learn more and can choose an existing introductory group or self-directed resource.

ONE COMPLETE CAMPAIGN

Target: Local employers with office-based teams. Problem: Long periods of sitting and low movement during the day. Entry: A useful educational resource. Distribution: An approved company newsletter or internal communication. Next step: A suitable 4C product through Sales Home. Feedback: Interest, registrations, conversations and resulting purchases.

Check your Go-to-Market system

Think about your most recent inquiries and the next campaign you could realistically launch. Which answers are known, and which are still assumptions?

  • Can you name the exact group of people your first campaign should reach?
  • Do you know where those people learn, gather or seek professional advice?
  • Can you explain the real problem your first message will address?
  • Have you selected one primary route: Local Direct, Local Partner, Global Direct or Global Partner?
  • Do you have relevant contacts or a credible way to reach that audience?
  • Will your content, introduction or outreach lead to one clear Sales Home entry point?
  • Do you know who responds to inquiries and how the next conversation is handled?
  • Can you measure interest, qualified conversations and customers by campaign source?
